Instead of writing a paper for my final project in Perspectives of Multicultural Literature ENGL , I decided with a friend to venture to an Indian reservation and compare it to a book we read by Sherman Alexie. College English for me is unfamiliar. Words tell so much more than a story. It was such a memorable day. In a few months in English with support I have gone from copying essays, which was what I did in high school, to writing my own essays. These are the things that I have worked on and improved over the past couple of years and I feel that my work shows this. I was to summarize the writer 's main points, to write down my own opinions, or to connect it to any personal experiences. Attendance is one of many things that helps other see you as a professional. My presentation was not as verbal as my other classmates, but the feedback from the professor, as well as my classmates, helped better prepare me for future presentations. I took Algebra, Biology, and even Filipino, but my English class is of an entirely different context. The feedback has helped me grow more than anything and being able to learn from my peers and strengthen my weaknesses as well as sharpen my strengths will help me tremendously in the long run.
